First time arrival and others in Lewisporte

For the first time the CCGS CAPTAIN MOLLY KOOL arrived in Lewisporte for Christmas I would expect. Also in Lewisporte is the KAMUTIK W in for the winter, the ferry SOUND OF ISLAY and NORTHERN RANGER

Flag Change

This past weekend the Rosaire A. Desgagnes was in St. John's getting reflagged to Barbados as the ship will operate over seas for the winter. It seems Desgagnes do this often, and bring them back in time for the Arctic seasson

Tug Dalton Warrior in action

The tug Dalton Warrior left the dock today in Long Pond and headed out to assist the cargo ship the Bandura, the Bandura was built in 2010, it measures 118 merters long.

The tug was built in 1999, and is owned by PD Industries , 4,980 HP, 12.7 knots, and her bollard pul is 61.2 tons ahead, and 56.4 tons astern.

Anorther Woodward tanker and the Louis is back

This past week, the Kivalliq W  arrievd in St. John's, the Kivalliq W is the former Stein Flord. Arriving also this past week, the CCGS Louis S St. Lauret arrived from the Arctic.

Did someone say refit

The St. John's dockyard are busy refitting ships. The CCGS George R Pearkes is on refit. The ferry Vetaran is on drydock for repairs to thruster and maintenance work and painting. The CCGS Hudson is undergoing a big refit, which is taking a long time. The Hudson is back in the water, but not ready to return to service, he deck looks to be covered in, for painting purposes.

A little bit of tug news, the Atlantic Hemlock departed here today, she has been in a few days. The Ida is now called the Dalton Warrior, and is registered in St. John's.

This morning the Portuguese fishing vessel Coimbra arrievd and secured at the fuel dock, later she went across the harbor. The Qikiqaaluk W is in, the Terry Fox, and Bluefort, and the Henry Larsen and Cygnus

In St. John's on Saturday was the James Cook, a research vessel registered in Britain. The Qikiqtaaluk W, a tanker belonging to Coastal shipping, and the Japanese fishing vessel Koyo Maru NO 30.

CCGS Sir Wilfred Grenfell Departs St John's for the last time

The Caoast Guard ship Sir Wilfred Grenfell departed St. John's 1600hrs Oct 28, 2019 heading to Victoria, BC. The ship is beinjg transferred to the west coast, and left St. John's for the last time. It will be a long voyage stoppoing in bermuda, and then transitting the Panama Canal.

Cruise ship season over for the season in St. John's

The Ameda closed the cruise ship season in St. John's with its arrival at 0800hrs. According to reports from VOCM the port saw 30 of 38 ship arrivals with over 20,000 passengers. A great season for visitors.

Another tug for dry-dock

 The Atlantic Cedar shown on dry dock getting a new paint job. The tug is 30.8 meters long, gtoss tonnage 400, and built in 2005.
