Arrievd for refit

Arriving today was the ferry Sound of Islay from Lewisporte, it is in for refit. The vessel was built in 1968 in Scotland, she was purchased by the Newfoundland Government in 1981. She is 142 feet long, 280 gross tons. She can carry 20 cars and 93 passengers.

More Cruise ship arrivals

This pass weedend was a busy one for cruise ships. On Friday the Aurora was in and departed at 1730hrs, the Aidaluna, arrived Saturday morning and is leaving this morning, she was here to get out of the storm. We also had two ships cancel there visit, the Marco Polo and Silver Wind.

A little older, but a nice ship

One of the cruise arrivals this past weekend was the Veendam, the ship was built in 1996, and is 719 feet. She can carry 1350 passengers ad 568 crew.

HMCS Ville De Quebec makes an appearance

Arriving St. John's Aug 28, 2019 was the HMCS Ville De Quebec, to take fuel. She arrivied from the Arctic. The ship departed later in the afternono.

Another Cruise Ship

Today, the Seven Seas Navigator arrievd in St. John's from Greenland. The ship has a capacity of 490 passneger ,and is 560 feet long and is owned by Radissson Seven  seas Cruises. The ship departed this evening for Halifax.

Hinch Spirit arriving St. John's

The Hinch Spirit arrived in St. John's this pass week, and thanks to my wife I was able to get some photos.

The vessel is 448 feet long, her former name was the Topaz, built in 2009, this is her second trip here.

Out on Trials

The CCGS Henry Larsen arrievd today after being out on trials for the day. The ship has been on refit for the last couple of months, and is getting ready for the Arctic.

Horizon Enabler...Finally

I was finally able to get a photo of the Horizon Enabler underway


. The ship is ownwd by Horizon Maritime, which got offices in Halifax and St. John's. The ship departed for Halifax.  The Horizon Enabler is 96 meters long and gross tons of 4,769

Big Arrival

This past Sunday saw the Queen Elizabeth, arrived for the first time, and what a sight it was. At 964.5 feet, she can carry 2,081 passengers and 1,005 crew, and was bilt in 2010. This ship maybe one of the largest ships to enter st. john's. What a sight watching her leave, the otherships in the harbour give her a send off by, all taking turns blowing thir whistle, doing what is called the harbour symphony.

The New CCGS Conception Bay

The CCGS Conception Bay arrived St. John's today. The vessel is one of 20 new boats being built. The Conception Bay is going to be based in the Atlantic Region. They are 19 meters, and a gross tonnage of 81.9, they are 1600 hp, and has a speed of 24 knits.

Sea Princess pays a visit to St. John's

The Sea Princess arrievd in St. John's this morning and departed at 1730hrs for New York. The Sea Princess was built in 1998 at a cost of $300 million, the ship measures 856 feet, and can carry over 2000 passengers.

July 16, 2019 saw the supply vessels Paul A. Sacuta and Maersk Cutter depart. St. John's has turned to busy place with supply vessels coming and going.

FOGGY DAY..BUT LOTS OF TRAFFIC

It was foggy, but a bit of traffic. The Horizon Star departed for off shore. The Maersk Clipper arrievd, and the Polar Prince departed heading for the grand banks, the Polar Prince is the former Sir Humphrey Gilbert built in 1959.

HC BEAU LUNA

The cargo ship Hc Beau Luna arrived in St. John's July 12, 2019 and tied up at pier 17 and departed at 1500hrs July 12, 2019. The ship was built in 2000,  is 129 meters and a gross tonnage of 6,382 and has two cranes, mounted on deck. The ship is managed and owned bu IMM Ship management in germany. Former names, Tatjana until 2003, TMC Brazil until Nov 2002 and Tatjana until 2002/
