Some activity from Monday

This morning the Portuguese fishing vessel Coimbra arrievd and secured at the fuel dock, later she went across the harbor. The Qikiqaaluk W is in, the Terry Fox, and Bluefort, and the Henry Larsen and Cygnus

Some ships in on Saturday

In St. John's on Saturday was the James Cook, a research vessel registered in Britain. The Qikiqtaaluk W, a tanker belonging to Coastal shipping, and the Japanese fishing vessel Koyo Maru NO 30.

Visit for Long Pond

A visitor to Long Pond last weekend, the Vectis Pride, built in 2012 and is 124 meters. I'm not sure what she was loading or unloading. May be someone can provide some information

CCGS Sir Wilfred Grenfell Departs St John's for the last time

The Caoast Guard ship Sir Wilfred Grenfell departed St. John's 1600hrs Oct 28, 2019 heading to Victoria, BC. The ship is beinjg transferred to the west coast, and left St. John's for the last time. It will be a long voyage stoppoing in bermuda, and then transitting the Panama Canal.

Cruise ship season over for the season in St. John's

The Ameda closed the cruise ship season in St. John's with its arrival at 0800hrs. According to reports from VOCM the port saw 30 of 38 ship arrivals with over 20,000 passengers. A great season for visitors.

Saturday, saw the Baie St. Paul arrive for the first time, she is owned by Canada Steam Ship  Lines. This was her first visit to St. John's, she arrievd with a laod of salt. The ship was built in 2012 in China, and is the lead ship in CSL's Trrillum class. The ship is 740 feet long. The ship departed again early afternoon.

After rhe Baie St- Paul left the Acadian arrievd from New Brunswick, the ship is 183 meters, and was built in 2005 in Korea and is owned by FB tankships.

Houston Star in Whiffen Head

The tanker HOUSTON STAR shown loading in Whiffen Head. The ship is 249 meters,  and built in 2007.

This past saturday saw a bulk carrier the NEW DELIGHT anchored in the bay with the bunkering tanker the NORTH ATLANTIC KARIOS alongside. The NEW DELIGHT measures 291 meters, 92,752 tons and was built in 2012. and flying the Panama flag
Alongside in Come by Chance was the EDLKA GLORY,  At 183 meters, was built in 2003, and flies the greek flag.

Today shipping was a bit slow. The Paul A. Sacuta and Maersk Clipper arrived, the Clipper headed to the fuel dock

In the afternoon, the CCGS Sir Wilfred Grenfell arrived from Lewisporte, where she was on Search and rescue stand by. Her duties were haned to the CCGS Cape Roger

Cruise Ship comes and Cruise ship goes

Friday in St. John's saw the Silver Whisper depart, after spending a night in port, she headed for Sydney. On Saturday saw the arrival of the Silver Explorer. The Explorer is a bit smaller, measuring 108 meters, and she was built in 1986.

Oceanex Sanderling shifts berth

The Oceanex Sanderling shifting to pier 24 today to take on fuel. This is the first time I seen this. They never use to take fuel here.

Earlt Arrival, Early Departure/

The Arcadia spent the night in St. John's this past saturday. The ship arrived Saturaday at 0530hrs, in pouring rain and due to weather spent the night, but left again at 0503hrs today heading to Halifax. I wasn't able to get a suitable photo, only along side.

Another Big arrival

Today brought in the Sapphire Princess. The ship is quite large, built in 2004, she measure 950 feet. The ship arrievd from Southampeton, and departed for Sydney, Nova Scotia

Another Visit

Today's arrival was the Ocean Atlantic, arriving from Nuuk, Greenland. The ship is registered in the Bahamas, and was built in 1986. Its more like an expendition ship, taking passengers north.
