Weekend Report

The beautiful yacht Rock It arrived on Saturday morning. The ship was launched in 2014, it measures 198 feet long, and 500 gross tons, and valued at $85,000,000. The Rock It is owned by Jimmy John Liaitaud, owner, founder and chairman of Jimmy John sanwich chain. (wikapedia)

Local tanker in port

In port for the last week or so, was the Sten Fjord. She just retuned from a winter of working over seas. While in port she had a name changed, it is now the Kivalliq W. The ship left today.


Last weekend's visit to long pond, the Arcadia Desgagnes was in port. The ship was built in 2013 and measures 120 meters long. The ship was aquired by Desgagnes last year.

The cruise ship Aidavita arrived yesterday (June 15, 2018) through the fog and cold The ship measures 665 feet and grt 42,289, and passenger capacity of 1,266.

Busy Sunday

This pass Sunday was busy, the Oceanex Sanderling arrived on her weekly visit. The tug Beverly M1 arrived from Clarenville towing the ferry Gallipoli, the Grand Manan V departed after a refit., the small cruise ship Hebridean Sky arrived, as well as Ramform Sterling

First Arrival

The CCGS Edward Corwallis visited Lewisporte last week, to my knowledge its the first time in Lewisporte, normally based in Dartmouth, they sometime swap ships, the Cape Roger is over in Dartmouth, I think the coast guard are short handed with the Ann Harvey still out of service.  (photos taken by my dad)

Another tug for dry-dock

 The Atlantic Cedar shown on dry dock getting a new paint job. The tug is 30.8 meters long, gtoss tonnage 400, and built in 2005.
