Waiting to arrive Holyrood

The tanker Nave Equinox was anchored in Conception Bay today waiting to arrive Holyrood. The ship was built in 2007 and registered in Marshall Islands, and measures 183 meters, and gross tons 30,119. These tankers arrives bringing oil to the Holyrood generating station, which generates power for Newfoundland, and when all generators are running the plant burns 18000 barrels a day.

More from Lewisporte

The tanker Havelstern arrived in Lewisporte Oct 23, 2016 from the Arctic, also the coast guard ship Sir Wilfred Grenfell arrived on Oct 23, 2016.

Owned by the Woodward Group, the ship was built in 1994

Sir Robert Bond Sold!!!

It appears the Sir Robert Bond has been sold, after two years being tied up in Lewisporte. It will be gone I would say by this time next month, and from what I heard is she is going for dry-dock. Details to follow. The following taken in Lewisporte this past weekend. Going to haul peet moss from New Brunswick to the United States year round

The supply vessels Atlantic Raven and Atlantic Kingfisher appear to be laid up with the down turn in the oil industry, the Maersk Cutter and Maersk Clipper are laid up in Marystown

Other Saturday Sightings

The passenger ship Ocean Endeavor was in port on Saturday, for a short visit, she took fuel while here. She is owned by Quark Expeditions, she is engineered to explore the vast polar regions.

The Maersk Detector recently went back into operation, after seemingly spending time in Long Pond, CBS, for a period 

Maersk Cutter arrived on Saturday and took fuel, she arrived from the Whiterose Field. Her sister Maersk Clipper is at Marystown  laid up.

The Boa Odin shown in St. John's. She was built in 2010, and registered in Norway, she did spend time in Bull Arm. She. She is formerly the Svitzer Pembroke

Long Pond Traffic

In port at Long Pond today was the Florence Spirit, a bulk carrier owned by McKiel Marine. The ship was built in 2004 and was previously named Arklow Willow, she is 447 feet long., and has 5,794 horse power and a speed of about 13 knots.

Another tug for dry-dock

 The Atlantic Cedar shown on dry dock getting a new paint job. The tug is 30.8 meters long, gtoss tonnage 400, and built in 2005.
