Veteran - out for trials

The trouble plagued ferry VETERAN departed St. John's today for trials. The ship has been here since Feb 3, 2016 undergoing repairs both on dry-dock and alongside.

The Navy arrives

The navy frigate the HMCS HALIFAX arrived in St. John's March 7, 2016 for fuel, she was doing exercises, maybe with a new helicopter sitting on her deck.

In for refit

A usual sight is the St. Pierre ferry coming to St. John's, today was the LE CABESTAN, at 40 meters long and 478 gross tons, she is not big, but is designed to run between St. Pierre and Fortune pretty fast.

Coast Guard Ships in port, busy dry-dock

March 2, 2016 saw the CCGS EDWARD CORNWALLIS, CCGS SIR WILFRED GRENFELL in St. John's, the ANN HARVEY, VLADYKOV and HARP are also there.

The dry-dock was a busy place, the ASTRON, TERRA NOVA, GRACE SPARKES, VETERAN and NANNY were all on dry-dock.

Stena Carrier, ready to load

The STENA CARRIER shifted berths recently in preparation to start loading, she is now at the Oceanex dock. The schedules don't indicate her leaving yet, but that may have changed as the OCEANEX CONNAIGRA  has left for Gibraltar.

Another tug for dry-dock

 The Atlantic Cedar shown on dry dock getting a new paint job. The tug is 30.8 meters long, gtoss tonnage 400, and built in 2005.
