Aug 3, 2014 brought the Louis S. St. Laurent to St. John's. well almost. she anchored outside arriving and securing at the fuel dock. The next day she moved to another dock, and looks like she is preparing for a trip north to the Arctic.
Ahead of the Louis is the Terry Fox, she was in the Arctic but returned, and from the photos they were running her engines with a lot of smoke, not sure really what's going on, but Canada's biggest icebreakers are not in the Arctic. The Terry Fox departed St. John's Friday Aug 8, and the Louis departed St. John's on Saturday the 9th, both vessels are going to map the north pole area according to news reports.
