Kometik at anchor

The shuttle tanker Kometik shown in this photo at anchor in Conception Bay. The large ship anchors here from time to time while waiting for a turn to pick up a load of oil offshore.

The Kometik was built in 1997 in Korea at Samsung Heavy Industries, and is owned by a joint venture of Mobil. Chevron and Murphy oil and managed by canship ugland. It measures 891 feet, it serves Hibernia and Terra Nova fields.
