Supply Vessels busy

July 15, 2013 was a busy time in the harbor. The Canadian flagged Troms Capella, along with the Maersk Placentia, and Maersk Dispatcher were in the harbor using their DP System, alongside were the Maersk Detector, Maersk Chancellor, Maersk Chignecto and Maersk Gabarus, Maersk Nascopie,  the Burin Sea was also in, she was at the dockyard dock, I heard she may have to be dry-docked for emergency repairs.

The Atlantic Kestrel arrived, then the Magne Viking departed for the Stena Carron, a half hour after that the Troms Castor departed also for the Ste

na Carron, which is located off the east coast of Newfoundland.

Atlantic Raven arrives

One of twelve supply vessels in St. John's July 12, 2013, the Atlantic Raven is shown arriving from the Terra Nova Field off Newfoundland.
The Atlantic Raven was built in 1999 in Denmark, was purchased by Atlantic Towing in 2011.

New Supply ship Arrivals

Some new supply vessel arrivals this past week. The Troms Capella, Troms Castor and the latest arrival the Magne Viking. These vessels will be servicing the drill ship Stena Carron, which will be doing some drilling off Newfoundland, and of course with these foreign registered vessels means there is no Canadian supply vessel available.

I received news that Secunda has bought the Troms Capella. The Transport Canada website shows the ship was registered in St. John's July 9, 2013, she is owned by Clean Design Capella AS in Norwat, and the Authorized Representative is Secunda Operating GP in Dartmouth. The Troms Capella was built in 2011 in India.

New arrival...Troms Castor

The supply vessel Troms Castor arrived in St. John's July 7, 2013 from Norway, along with fleet mate Troms Capella. These vessels will service the drill ship Stena Carron when it arrives. The Troms Castor was last here in 2009, but I think its the first visit for the Troms Capella.

Troms Castor was built in 2009, has a gross tonnage of 4,366. The Troms Castor is shown in the photos.

Coastal Shipping's tanker Mokami as shown in St. John's June 30, 2013 secured at the dockyard dock.
I have heard rumors that the ship was put up for sale, which may be correct as she is not listed as part of the fleet on their website. I have also heard she is sold and waiting for an inspection.
