Maersk Beater

Maersk Beater.....New Arrival

A new supply vessel visits St. John's, the Maersk Beater arrived last week and will begin operating off Nwfoundland soon, photo taken Nov 25, 2012

The ship is classed a Multi purpose offshore supply vessel, built in 1997, is 85 meters long, has a gross tonage of 4,363, she was reflagged from the United Kindom to Canada Oct 17, 2012 and is registered in St. John's. The ship is powerfull, 20,000 HP, and has a bollard pull of 220-240 tons

CCGS Terry Fox and CCGS Henry Larsen

The icebreakers Terry Fox and Henry Larsen shown secured at the Canadian Coast Guard Base in St. John's Nov 24, 2012.

Both ships returned to St. John's in October after completing trips to the Arctic, where they conducted icebreaking operations, resupply missions and seismic work.

CCGS Cygnus

The Canadian Coast Guard Fisheries patrol vessel Cygnus showned in this photo secured in St. John's Nov 4, 2012.
The Cygnus was built in 1982 in Marystown, Newfoundland and is used mainly for Fisheries patrol on the Grand Banks off the coast of Newfoundland, the ship is also used for search and rescue, she carries alot of search and rescue equipment, oil spill equipment, she has a sick bay to handle any emergency that may arise, a very capable ship.

Marine Coaster III arrives

The litte ferry Marine Coaster III has arrived in St. John's, is now oned by Puddister Shipping. The ship is the former Lady white Head, it operated in the Bay of Fundy. The ship was built in 1976, can carry 45 passengers and 8 cars

CCGS Vladykov

The new Canadian Coast Guard Fisheries Research vessel Vladykov shown in St. John's Nov 4, 2012. The ship built in 2012 has replaced the Shamook after 35 years of service. It measures 25 meter's long and 253 gross tons.

Another tug for dry-dock

 The Atlantic Cedar shown on dry dock getting a new paint job. The tug is 30.8 meters long, gtoss tonnage 400, and built in 2005.
