The CCGS ANN HARVEY shown secured in St. John's Oct 12,2009. The ship was built in 1987 in Halifax, just last week encountered a rogue wave off St. John's injuring two crew members while responding to a report of a disable fishing vessel off St. John's.

The Canadian Coast Guard Ship LEONARD J. COWLEY secured in St. John's Oct 12, 2009 undergoing refit.
The Cowley built in 1984 is used mostly for fisheries patrol, she is armed with two 12.7 MM machine guns and carries a stockpile of small arms.

Another cruise ship cancels visit to St. John's

VOCM news just reported that the QUEEN VICTORIA which was scheduled to visit St. John's Oct 7, 2009 has cancelled her visit due to wind conditions, that makes five large cruise ships that were scheduled to visit cancelling.

VOCM news is reporting that the visit scheduled for Oct 7, 2009 by the EMERALD PRINCESS has been cancelled due to bad weather, but the visit by the QUEEN VICTORIA is is on schedule.

Another tug for dry-dock

 The Atlantic Cedar shown on dry dock getting a new paint job. The tug is 30.8 meters long, gtoss tonnage 400, and built in 2005.
